BRIDAL REVIEW

Maradee Wahl: Brides - Dana, July 2012

When I met Maradee, she sensed my frustration and expressed her willingness and determination to help me realise my dream dress. As I talked about my style Maradee went to the back room and emerged with a dress that literally took my breath away. Dana,July 2012

My encounter with Maradee Wahl was serendipitous. I had flown to LA to find my wedding gown and was having no such luck. Each dress I tried on made me feel like a catalogue bride, none mirroring the vision of the bride I wanted to be.

The gown was made from a Chantilly lace that was completely hand embroidered with scattered beading that glistened in the light. It was a sheath dress which I never would have picked for myself but when I slipped it on I knew this was it.

I felt sophisticated and unique but still wanted to add my personal touch to the dress. Maradee was extremely willing to creatively collaborate with me and together we created a dramatic scalloped sweetheart neckline with lace appliqué and a sexy back slit detail, reminiscent of a 1950’s gown.

I also needed to cover my shoulders for the service but didn’t want to look like I was wearing a bolero, so we created a Chantilly lace detachable piece with butterfly sleeves that when fastened looked part of the dress.

The experience was seamless and stress free. Maradee was there for all my fittings and was a constant sounding board throughout the whole process.
