The thing with Maradee is that she is on your team. She does not work for any of the bridal salons and she is not trying to sell you anything. She works for you. You are her bride. She truly just wants you to be happy and look your very best on your wedding day. Nina,December 2016
Until that moment, I did not know that hiring a bridal stylist was even an option. The seed was planted. Also, how could I forget a name like Maradee Wahl?
After hiring various key vendors, my attention once again turned to my wedding dress. I had already purchased a traditional long-sleeved gown for my Catholic ceremony, but I wanted a glamorous, modern, red carpet look for my reception. I had visited a couple shops, but nothing stood out. Maradee popped back into my head. I found her website and got in touch with her. When I spoke with her on the phone, she was so professional, but also warm and friendly. She knew what she was talking about and what she was doing. She asked thoughtful questions and listened to what I had to say. I mailed her a retainer the next day and we got started on the process.
When I received the first draft from Maradee, I got anxious. I wasn’t sure if she and I were on the same page. However, when I called and expressed my concerns, she was very receptive, understanding and helped put my mind at ease. The look book was more tailored to my vision, but it was not until I met with Maradee at her home studio that I knew I had made the right decision.
When I arrived at Maradee’s, it was my first time meeting her. Here she was, this smiling, warm, pretty woman who offered me a big hug and sparkling water. I instantly felt at ease. For my session, Maradee pulled many different options for me from various bridal salons. She had a nice set-up in her living room with a big mirror and her assistant to help you in and out of each dress.
I fell in love with two very special gowns and ended up buying both, a Monique Lhuillier for my rehearsal dinner and a Naeem Khan for my reception. I would have never found the rehearsal dinner dress but for Maradee since it was in the back room of Monique Lhilliuer where Maradee has special access. As for the Naeem Khan, I would have never actually purchased the gown without Maradee’s expert advice and relationship with the designer that allowed for the gown to be custom made to my proportions. She gave me the confidence to go for my dream dress. The hand-beaded, glamorous Naeem Khan dress knocked it out of the park.
The thing with Maradee is that she is on your team. She does not work for any of the bridal salons and she is not trying to sell you anything. She works for you. You are her bride. She truly just wants you to be happy and look your very best on your wedding day. She has exquisite taste and a keen eye. What’s more, she is a straight shooter. It doesn’t matter who designs the dress or what it costs, if Maradee thinks you look amazing in it, she will tell you; if she thinks there are more flattering options, she will tell you.
I am a careful and risk-adverse attorney, and hiring Maradee without meeting her was one of the boldest, but ultimately wisest, decisions I made while planning my wedding. Best of all, the relationship with Maradee doesn’t end after she finds you the dress of your dreams. She will promptly respond to your texts or emails to answer any questions you may have regarding alterations, gown preservation, steamers, and so forth. Maradee cares about you not only as her client but as a person. She has not steered me wrong and I’ve learned to listen to her advice. Most importantly, I feel like I found a new friend and that is the greatest gift of all.
