BRIDAL REVIEW

Oh, and she also helped me find the right shoes, earrings, a wrap, those many necessary undergarments and handled all the alterations. On the big day, I felt beautiful and relaxed- and best of all, I felt like myself. Suzanne,December 2016

I wasn’t sure what I wanted to wear on my wedding day. I’m not young, I’m not a size 6, I’m not even a first time bride, so I was a bit nervous. Something unconventional? Maybe Academy Award-ish? Bohemian? Perhaps even an actual wedding dress? I didn’t have a clue where to begin.

Thank goodness for Maradee! From the moment we first spoke on the phone, I knew Maradee would guide successfully me through this process, but I didn’t realize how easy- and fun! – it would be. Finding the dress took one day. Just one! I had envisioned hours and hours of trying on, deliberating, ruminating, then doing it all again the next time I could squeeze another shopping day into my calendar. The very thought of this going on for weeks was enough to make me hate the whole idea.

But with Maradee, Dress Day began at 9 am in a hip LA cafe, and by 4pm I was on my way home, having found a dress that was just right. Oh, and she also helped me find the right shoes, earrings, a wrap, those many necessary undergarments and handled all the alterations. On the big day, I felt beautiful and relaxed- and best of all, I felt like myself.

There are many, many decisions, complexities, financial decisions, and emotional triggers that can make the months leading up to a wedding very challenging. When you add in the discomfort some of us have with body image, and the spotlight that shines right on a bride, finding the right thing to wear can be emotionally charged. Maradee’s warmth, no-b.s. attitude, good humor, deep understanding of apparel and tailoring, and her on-pointe style were the winning combination to make the process enjoyable. Thank you, Maradee!
