Maradee Wahl is my fairy godmother. To attempt to explain what she did for me would never do it justice. Maradee is the most selfless person you will encounter with the ability to wear more hats than you knew was possible. She will be your best friend and confidante and in the most remarkable way make you feel amazing while also telling you the brutal, honest truth.
I found Maradee through a recommendation to help design a veil to wear with my wedding dress. Fast-forward to weeks of phone calls, dress fittings, bridesmaid dress fittings (which included champagne and Spanx of course!) Then a week before the wedding, I decided I needed a new dress! And with a wave of a magic wand (and a headache I’m sure) Maradee made it happen.
I consider myself relatively low-maintenance but the reality is there is nothing low maintenance about planning a wedding, big or small. She was my therapist, my stylist, my friend and my savior. She has had so much experience working with brides, she knows what to expect when you don’t even see it coming. She helped me find the perfect dress a week out (don’t do this!), she dressed all my 12 bridesmaids, organized fittings and under garments, she helped my mother, my husband and his groomsmen.
And last but not least, she was there day of, bright and early steaming dresses and getting a room ready for pictures. She helped myself, my mother and bridesmaids all get dressed, which meant last minute alterations and applying heel protectors. And then from then on, she was by my side adjusting my dress, my veil, and my hair as I tried to keep my anxious hives at bay. All I said was that I wanted one decent picture to remember this day and with Maradee’s help, I got a few! She was there basically styling each shot.
After the ceremony she organized all my things including my bouquet (which can surprisingly easily go missing). Then mid-reception, when she said it was time for her to go I cried. What was I going to do without her? Oh, that’s right, have the best night of my life because she made it all so easy!
